Parking Details: The parking lot may be entered from Crown street. Additional parking may be found at the Schubert Theatre garage at the corner of College and Crown streets, or in an additional parking garage found at the corner of crown and high street. These parking spaces are less than a block away from Union League Cafe and all three are within walking distance of the restaurant.

Short distance to train station – Shoreline east schedule here. Amtrak also offers shuttle and train service from Springfield and Hartford to New Haven.

Cost will be $40.00 for SNELLA members; $45 for non-SNELLA members and guests. Bring payment with you to Union League, questions about payment may be directed to Camilla Tubbs.

The preset menu is:
Wild mushroom tart, puff pastry crust, onion and pecan spread, porcini jus, mâche salad;
Crispy natural chicken “Dijonaise,” casserole of onion, peas and tomato;
Marinated fresh strawberries with Hibiscus syrup, mascarpone lemon thyme sorbet.
Coffee and tea included with dessert. There will also be a cash bar.

In particular SNELLA will be presenting two panels: Emerging Technologies in Legal Research from 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m., and Uniformity in Laws Published Online from 11:15 a.m. – Noon. And finally, we will have a SNELLA meeting from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. with special AALL board member guest Lucy Curcigonzalez.

1. 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.; Emerging Technologies in Legal Research: Jason Eiseman, SNELLA member and Librarian for Emerging Technologies at the Yale Law Library, will highlight some of the cutting-edge tech tools that we are showing law students for legal research and research management.
2. 11:15 a.m. – Noon; Uniformity in Laws Published Online: The Uniform Law Commission recently proposed a “Uniform Electronic Legal Material Act (UELMA)” for state adoption to allow for the authentication and preservation of electronic legal material to enable end-users to verify the trustworthiness of documents.  SNELLA recently participated in a Connecticut Legislative hearing regarding the topic. Hear an overview of UELMA and Connecticut’s approach to verifying electronic information.  Panelists include: David Biklen, Principal at the Law Office of David Biklen and a member of the drafting committee for the Uniform Electronic Legal Material Act; Kendall Wiggin, State Librarian of Connecticut; and Darcy Kirk, Associate Dean for Library and Technology and Professor of Law at the University of Connecticut School of Law and President of the American Association of Law Libraries.

SNELLA will also have an Executive Board meeting from 2:30-3:00, all members are invited to attend.  Lucy Curci-Gonzalez, a member of the AALL Executive Board will be on hand to discuss AALL’s strategic directions for law librarian leadership, education, and advocacy.  The conference will also feature a complimentary breakfast and lunch for all attendees, a visit from legendary NFL quarterback Steve Grogan of the New England Patriots, and raffle prizes.
